I was lucky enough to be contacted by Michelle and Simon, a lovely couple from Hong Kong. They recently got engaged and wanted to do a pre wedding session on their trip to the Nordic countries. After some planning we chose the beautiful Aurland in the western part of Norway, a couple hours north of Bergen. This area is known for its fjords, mountains and all-round spectacular nature.
Meeting up with adventurous couples, and spending the day getting to know them whilst making beautiful images is my dream assignment :) So of course I was super excited when Jillian and Jason from Malaysia contacted me. They were getting married in New York and wanted to travel to Lofoten for their wedding pictures. Here are my favorite images from our day together :)
Here are some of the pictures from last weeks engagement photo shoot with this super sweet couple. We met up in the beautiful coastal area between Tønsberg and Horten in Vestfold, Norway, and spent a couple hours exploring the area.
This post is my second and last '2016 roundup' post. If you didn't catch the 1st one, check it out here: Best of 2016 #1. Thank you 2016 for being so good to me and my family! Can't wait for what 2017 has in store for us!
As 2016 is coming to an end, it's time to look back on what an amazing year this has been for me and my photography business. 2016 has been the year where I decided to really focus on weddings, I stepped up my marketing and took some big steps in my photography (at least I like to think so:).
A couple months ago, Joseph and Jia Yan contacted me looking for a photographer for their pre wedding photoshoot in Lofoten. If you haven't heard about Lofoten, you will want to go after seeing these pics. Lotofen is a bunch of epic islands in Northern Norway with the most insane mountains you've ever seen.
I had the pleasure of taking pictures in Ingvild and Lars Kristians wedding earlier this summer. Ingvild really wanted some wedding portraits by the ocean, but unfortunately there wasn't enough time to drive to the sea on their wedding day. I figured there's an easy solution for that, and a couple weeks later we met up for this beautiful windy sunset shoot in Krogshavn, Langesund.
Ingvild and Lars Kristian had really done an amazing job of turning this old abandoned industrial building into a beautiful ceremony location. It was such a fun, and also a bit difficult location to photograph. There wasn't much light available, but my trusty Fuji X-Pro2's really did an amazing job! Just love those cameras!
Therese and Thomas are two amazing people I've had the pleasure of knowing for many years now. So when they said they were getting married and wanted me to be their photographer I was instantly excited. I did their engagement photos a while back, which was a super fun evening in the woods, have a looky here!
Bjørg Margrethe and Marius' wedding was such a pleasure to be a part of! So full of joy and love and great food :) After a beautiful ceremony we headed out to a rocky beach called Saltstein and the woods surrounding to shoot some portraits. We even found a good ol' tree stump that had been washed on shore. A fun element for some of the pictures of this beautiful bride and groom. Make sure to take an extra look at Bjørg Margrethes extraordinary lovely tailormade wedding dress!
Alexander and Natalia got married last year in Natalias home country Georgia. This summer they came to Norway to throw a wedding party and to take some stunning wedding pictures in the beautiful Norwegian summer light.
My best friend's girlfriend is about ready to pop, and if that ain't a reason to head out and take some pictures, nothing is :) I've had this beautiful flowery meadow in the back of my mind for a while, and it was the perfect fit for these maternity portraits. We also found a nice place where the sun was just about to set, which made for some epic low-sun portraits as well :)
Our good good friends Thomas and Therese are getting married this summer, and I got to take some engagement photos of them. One of my favorite ways to do this is just drive to the woods, and start walking in one direction :) You never know what'll come your way in terms of great spots. Low sun + pine woods = <3
I love photographing my friends' weddings, it's a blessing to be able to document this day for the people you love. Marthine and Andreas got married in an old beautiful stone church, and I'd found a really cool location for their portraits not far from the church. It's pretty much an old man's small house and garden, with beautiful cherry trees and these quirky old greenhouse frames standing around. Also, you gotta love that old school beetle convertible right?
These amazing people got married on a sunny afternoon in Oslo. Christian has been in the navy, hence his kickass suit/attire. We were blessed with good weather and even got time to take Christians bike for a little spin, which resulted in some fun/different shots. We also walked across Frognerparken and spent some time making some beautiful portraits. The dinner & party was held at Grefsenkollen, an amazing venue overseeing all of Oslo.
A super fun photoshoot in the gorgeous Norwegian evening summer light. Wow that was a long sentence! Skotfoss is the place, not far from Skien, and with lots of possibilities. This shoot lasted for about an hour, and we got everything from the low sun peeking over the mountain in the first shot, to the sun having gone down so the whole sky is acting as a super soft light source in the last one. I'm photographing these great people's wedding this summer, so stay tuned for a blog post about their barn wedding in Larvik, Norway.
An amazing wedding in my hometown of Skien, Norway. We were blessed with awesome weather, and managed to hit up several amazing locations in our short time of taking portraits. I love experimenting with different backgrounds and compositions, and this couple was up for the task. The result is a couple of really fun shots! Scroll through and take a look for yourself :)
Another winter photoshoot, which is my favorite! As long as it isn't too cold (which it pretty much is in Norway). These lovely people hiked out to a local mountain with me and we had a great time creating some images in the snow. How about those retro red anoraks/jackets! Love 'em!
Yay! My sister and her boyfriend were home for christmas and we went out for a quick photo shoot in the neighbourhood! You gotta love taking pictures in the snow, just makes the light awesome :) Take a look below!
