As 2016 is coming to an end, it's time to look back on what an amazing year this has been for me and my photography business. 2016 has been the year where I decided to really focus on weddings, I stepped up my marketing and took some big steps in my photography (at least I like to think so:).
I repeat myself all the time, but I really freakin' love being a wedding photographer sooo much! It is awesome :) So if you're wondering whether to pursue becoming a photographer or not; I say go for it!
So this post is a pat on the shoulder to myself and most of all a BIG BIG BIG thank you to all of my 2016 couples who trust me with their big day and with shaping their memories!
You might have noticed the post is titled best of #1, that's because there will be a #2. I'm not to crazy about blogposts with a huge amount of pictures, so I'll make a couple of these posts. Here's the first batch of images, 20 of my favorites from 2016!
Merethe & Lars - engagement session at Saltstein
The light, the lines, the black areas, the smiles, and did I mention the light?
Pre wedding session in the Lofoten Islands
This trip was such a blast! Traveling with two amazing people, Joesph and Jia all over Lofoten looking for beautiful spots like this one.
Love session in Alicante, Spain
I love shots like this one, the intimacy, feelings and smiles.
Another one from Spain, love the composition and the light in this one. It has a nice calmness to it. As you can see from these 20 images in this blog post, I have a soft spot for big landcapes :)
Snowy winter couple shoot
More of this please! More winter weddings and couple shoots. I particulary love this one because of the slight snow in the air, and of course because it's my sister and her boyfriend :)
Sunset engagement shoot
Love this one because of the colors and the smiles on the couple. This one is a little more vibrant then my usual editing style, but gotta mix it up sometimes right :)
Lofoten destination pre wedding photography
Another one from my trip to Lofoten. I think this one is my favorite from that trip. Just love how spontaneous it looks (and was). Also epic mountains are never a bad background!
Summer wedding in Stavern
I love the light in this image, proves that one can find awesome light in that harsh mid-day sun! Also yay for the simplicity of shots like this one.
Mølen beach bridal portraits
Mølen is one of the coolest rocky beaches in Norway. Smooth rocks made by the glacier many years ago. For this saturday's wedding a big 'ol tree stump had washed ashore, and served as an interesting object in this image. I also love this wedding dress and the way the wind takes hold of it in this image.
Another one from Bjørg Margrethe and Marius' Stavern wedding. Love the b&w tones + the bride looks like a rock star :)
Bridal portrait in golden field
This image is one of my absolute favorites from 2016. It's one of those moments where everything clicks. The light, the location and the absolute feeling of love that radiates from the bride's face.
Wedding at Kragerø Spa
Symmetry. That's pretty much why I love this image. It was taken in a brief moment minutes before the bride and groom met up with their guests at their reception.
Batman wedding image
Fall wedding in Oslo
Another one that I love for the simplicity and symmetry. And colors! Love the colors!
Once in a while... Go crazy!
Camping trailer + smoke bombs! Yaaay!
Winter love shoot
Once again: More winter shoots please! I love this image for it's lines, simplicity and the awesome matching jackets.
Urban bride + groom
I love doing bridal portraits in the nature. Forests/lakes/mountains/the ocean, bring it! But this location also speaks to me, a calm and gritty background. And to top it all of, the peeeeerfect little chalk heart that someone has drawn onto this wall :)
The blue wall
An image that leaves you wanting more. Who is this bride, what does the whole dress look like. Also I love it for the symmetry and of course, the blue wall :)
Falling in love with these skies over again every time I see this picture!!
Urban city bride + groom in Oslo
Backyard coffee break with interesting light! A fun fun fun image from an amazing wedding that wasn't urban at all! It was actually in an apple orchard!
Corn field magic
The location + the light + the smiles make this image on of my faves from 2016 :)
An under-the-veil shot that actually works!
Under the veil shots are a guilty pleasure of mine! All wedding photographers do them from time to time right? (or is it only me?). Sure it might be cheesy, but it might bring out the love and the emotions and the beauty like in this one :)
Sunset portraits FTW!
What draws me to this image is of course the light, but also the smile! I mean who doesn't love a smile? I sure do!
It's easy to choose the epic scenery images as one's favorites, so I thought I'd add a moments-image as well. This is what it's all about, people that love each other... alot!
